Our journey began with chainsaws and a mission to tackle fire mitigation head-on. Crafting trails was our secret passion, hidden behind the roar of falling trees. As we build our story, we invite you to join the adventure, one hazard tree at a time.
Let's walk together through forests transformed by our hands. Feel the crisp air, smell the fresh pine, and know that each fallen tree paves the way to safer surroundings. Embrace the path we carve, it's more than wood, it's our legacy.
Just Joking
That’s just AI talking. We’re a group of friends that spent many years on various Hotshot crews. All combined we’ve got over 30 years of experience hotshotting. we each have unique backgrounds and, therefore have interesting perspectives and skills that get melded together in whatever we do.
We truly care about forests and the people we help out. Having a basic understanding for forest health and communicating what are the best courses of action to take in a given site, is the way to work toward what we all want as a community.
We are not your typical tree company. We’re offering what we’ve learned spending a thousand hours of overtime on fire lines each season, in order to prevent extreme fire behavior from destroying your home. Or, a hazardous tree leaning over your property. Whatever the potential scenario, appropriate response rather than reacting as it’s happening. We like to do a thorough job with a real lunch break in the middle. Pro-action vs reaction is often the better way to go.
We also have a secret passion for building trails! Ha.

Max’s first “real” job was working on a trail crew out of Tucson, AZ. After hearing about Hotshots it became his dream job for about 10 years before finally getting on Globe Hotshots in 2015. Before this he loved working on the mountain for the Pikes Peak Cog railroad while getting experience with the Manitou Springs Volunteer Fire Department on the side. He worked in Gunnison on a fire engine for the FS for 1 season. Max spent 6 seasons on Globe with a summer break in the middle cutting hazard trees in and for the Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP.
Hi there , I’m Jonny . I’ve spent the majority of my years working , wondering, wandering , and marveling at the forests and deserts of the American west. I spent years as a fishing guide , an outdoor leadership professional, a wildland firefighter, and a timber faller . I started down the forestry path in 2003 as a wildland firefighter in Oregon, from there I worked several seasons in Alaska as a firefighter, and then a decade stint as a sawyer and sawboss with the San Juan interagency Hotshot crew out of Durango Colorado. And finally as a veterans fire crew liaison out of the Dolores ranger district , on the San Juan NF. I spent a total of 17 seasons as a wildland firefighter before I started the journey that I’m still on today . My favorite things in the world are being a dad and a husband , a friend , a human companion to my dog, fishing, archery hunting for elk, and hangin out and cuttin timber ( and lots of brush,) with Max. I feel like I don’t deserve the life I have.
